The Aristea Collection of handmade suede & wool bags elegantly combines two different traditions in its materials.
The Aristeas were crafted at one of the oldest leather smith shops in Athens, Greece, established by Giannis Tsimogiannis in 1968. The fabric comes from a traditional “vouridi,” handwoven on the loom by “Giagia” (grandmother) Aristea, who is 92 years old and lives in the remote village of Anogia in Crete.
“Vouridi” refers to a backpack made of thick, multicoloured material that was used by shepherds.
The Collection includes totes, bucket bags, clutches and “tagari” bags in different fabric colour combinations.
